I am currently reading a book by a well known financial planner. The author asked me to perform an exercise about my first experience with money. What happened? How did it make me feel? How do I feel about money today?
What I learned was that my first experience with money and what it meant has overshadowed my entire life. I realized that my reaction to items of value and what they mean to me stem from my very first experience. This is valuable information for me to have as I progress with life.
If you have any fear of money or your financial future, write down your first experience and then try to see the correlation between that very first experience or memory and how you handle money today. Use this information to empower yourself and get beyond your financial fears.
Being financially independent is not making more than you make now, but making what you have right now work for you!
"Having it all does not necessarily mean having it all at once."- Stephanie Luetkehans
Have a great week!
